Barbell 300 lb Olympic Weight Set Best Price & Review : By Dan USA
I recently purchased this set to add an addition to my current standard barbell and plates that I have had and used for years. As they are described, the plates are decent but are of a rough cast, with some of the larger plates I received having retained slightly raised semi-sharp casting remnants left on the edges of the plates from their production. The larger plates I received have the raised painted silver York lettering, but the smaller 10′s, 5′s, and 2.5′s have only the unpainted raised black York lettering.
This may be one explanation as to what they mean when they say that a “slight variation in color is possible” in the product description. The barbell itself is of good quality. It is a “real” 45lb. olympic barbell. Some lower quality olympic sets substitute an inferior 35lb. barbell, so this is something to consider when purchasing an olympic set. York claims this barbell has a 700lb. test rating. If that is the case, then this barbell would most likely be fine for most home lifters.
The knurling on the barbell is smooth, not jagged, and overall feels decent. I believe this is a good deal for a quality rugged olympic set, especially for the current price of around $300 with free shipping included. I have seen other sets advertised that cost way more, and for what most non-commercial users would need/want out of an olympic set, this is most likely among the best deals currently available for the money. I would just like to add that I have since discovered the reason I believe my smaller plates are unpainted. The reason I believe this to be is because I received with my set the better York Legacy olympic plates.
These plates are supposedly milled to within 2% accuracy of their indicated weight listing on the plate. The image given for the York 300lb. Olympic weight set shows the plates as being the regular York International olympic plates. These are supposedly not as accurate or cost as much as York’s Legacy line of olympic plates. This being said, I do not know if most ordering this set wind up with the regular York International olympic plates which are shown in the image, or wether or not they receive the better York Legacy ones.

Bowflex 552 Dumbbells Pair Review: Very versatile and easy to adjust from one weight to another. Much faster than trying to use other adjustable barbells. I also love the 2.5 lb increments unlike others that have 10 lb increment adjustments. They cost more but are definitely worth it.

I took my time when assembling everything and made sure to tighten the bench symmetrically. That being said… I have re-tightened the bench twice in the first year and so far I have ZERO complaints. Horizon EX57 Elliptical Trainer for Sale & Review : I’m loving this elliptical! The size of it is just perfect for my small room. I have wood floors so I put gliders underneath the 4 feet and pull it out from the wall when I want to use it. The movement is very smooth and the programming on it is great. I like the Hills mode and then I go forward and backward in that mode. It’s a great workout.
I did have an issue with the elliptical when I first got it though. The front casing was cracked and it was making a slight clunking noise on the right hand side. I called Horizon customer service – had no problems at all getting hold of someone. Some other reviews mentioned they couldn’t get through to customer service but I called several times and talked to a live person each time. Anyways, they said they would ship me a new casing and I told her about the clunking noise so she said she would send me some other parts.
Then she told me they would schedule a technician to come to my house to replace the casing and fix the clunking noise. It was still perfectly usable until the technician came, but he mananged to fix the clunking and put the replacement casing on for me. Horizon Fitness EX-69 Elliptical Trainer Review & Price Deals : I received the package in a week and took about a hour to assemble it. During the assembling, I found there were some cracks on two pieces of plastic parts, called horizon customer service next day. The rep was very nice; he ordered replacements for me without any question and spent a couple minutes to register the machine for me and taught me how to get to engineering screen to check total time, milage and calory information ( push stop button to reset, then hold “+” and “-” button together for a few seconds). The replacement parts arrived in five days. Now my machine is perfect.
The quality of the machine is really good. It is very smooth and quiet. I put it in my 7-foot high basement. I’m 5’6″; even I lift the incline level to the highest, my head is still a couple inches away from the ceiling. Very happy with this purchase. Highly recommened! Review by George

Horizon M4 Spinning Bike How Much?

Horizon Fitness M4 Spinning Bike Price & Review : This is a solid, smooth bike. The front end is stiff enough to get out of the saddle if you want. The back end has a bit of flex, but nothing too bad.
I’ll respond to some criticisms here:
1) the computer doesn’t claim to provide cadence (RPM) so there’s nothing wrong with it. It has limited usefulness, though. Mainly it’s a timer. I doubt it can accurately measure distance (except in a relative sense), and of course it can’t measure calories at all. Most computers that claim to measure calories are just hot air. Use it as a timer. It has auto shut-off and auto-reset.
2) the saddle is standard issue anatomic rode bike, a bit on the soft side but perfectly usable. It’s not “unbearable,” unless you want one of those giant saddles. But if you actually ride much, you won’t want one of those anyway. If you’re hard-core you can import your own saddle.
3) mine is really very quiet. Easy to watch TV while riding. If it’s loud it probably has drivetrain issues. Any good bike shop can tweak it. I tweaked mine just a bit, just aligning the flywheel. The chainguard is solid and shouldn’t give you any problems with rubbing or clanking.
The resistance has a fine adjustment and is very smooth. But if you want to do intervals be prepared for a bit of knob cranking back and forth. Overall I like the the fine adjustment as opposed to something that requires too much fiddling.
Mine arrived with some shipping damage, cosmetic mostly. It’s a heavy machine so I can imagine some samples may arrive with significant issues. Nothing new in that I guess.
I’ll say this as an out-of-shape 50+ year old ex-cyclist: it’ll give you any amount of workout you want, from an easy spin to a kick your behind workout.
